Kavalier and Clay

I just finished Michael Chabon's The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay this past Sunday. I'm not much of a literary reviewer, but let me simply say that there is a reason the book won the Pulitzer: it's good. I've moved on to Al Gore's The Assault on Reason, which, so far, is reading like a first draft but nonetheless has some provocative ideas. Judging by the typeset, it's a fairly macro-level approach to the concept of reason, but when you're going to the Oscars and saving the planet (not necessarily in that order), how much time do you really have for laying out the details?

Aah! You beat me to it. Reason was next on my list. I've been too busy reading Rip It Up And Start Again and Please Kill Me.

And if you haven't read those yet, how do you live with yourself?
